Suriname and Curaçao Strengthen Maritime Cooperation

The Maritime Authority of Suriname (MAS) and the Maritime Authority of Curaçao (MAC) have signed a cooperation protocol to strengthen collaboration in the Caribbean maritime sector. This agreement marks an important step in enhancing maritime safety, vessel inspections, accident investigations, and maritime administration across both jurisdictions.

The protocol establishes a framework for the exchange of expertise, improved regulatory oversight, and more efficient maritime supervision. Through this partnership, MAS and MAC will collaborate on key initiatives including Port State Control inspections, vessel surveys, casualty investigations, and ship registry development.

This strengthened cooperation supports the continued growth of the maritime industry in the Caribbean and Northern South America, creating new opportunities for maritime businesses, shipowners, and investors operating in the region.

Dammers Shipmanagement congratulates all authorities and stakeholders involved in this important milestone. We look forward to supporting the Surinamese maritime sector with our expertise in ship management, maritime administration, and corporate trust services from Curaçao.

As Curaçao continues to position itself as a strategic maritime hub in the Caribbean, we remain committed to facilitating efficient maritime operations and strengthening commercial ties between Suriname, Curaçao, and the wider Caribbean region.
